Our admissions process is designed to ensure that every resident is fully committed to our program, our values, and the principle of GRACE (Group Rent Allocation Cost Equally).
Step 1: Foundational Requirements & Accountability

Community Commitment & Vote
- Democratic Process: Overflow Ministries operates on a democratic process. After your interview, your acceptance into the house requires a vote where you must secure 80% or more approval from the current residents. This process ensures mutual commitment and acceptance within the brotherhood.
- Willingness to Submit: You must be willing to commit to all house rules, attend the weekly house business meetings, and follow the guidance of your sponsor/accountability partners.
Drug Screening Policy (Baseline Testing)
- Intake Test: Upon arrival, you will undergo a drug screening test to establish a baseline.
- Acceptance Status: While we require commitment to abstinence and recovery, we understand that recovery is a process. A positive intake test does not automatically disqualify you; however, it must be addressed as part of your immediate recovery plan. Acceptance in this situation is handled on a case by case basis following a review of your commitment and willingness to enter the process of sustained sobriety.
- Zero Tolerance: No illicit substances are allowed on the property at any time. The only exception is medication prescribed directly to you by a licensed physician and reported to house management upon intake.
Step 2: Financial Commitment (GRACE)
We believe that taking personal and financial responsibility is a core principle of maturity and commitment. Our financial structure operates with complete clarity and equality for all residents.
A. Non-Refundable Move In Fee
- Amount: $150.00
- Principle: This non refundable fee secures your bed, covers administrative intake processing, and signifies your serious commitment to joining our ministry house.
B. GRACE (Group Rent Allocation Cost Equally) Payment
- Amount:$150.00 per week
- Payment Schedule: Payments are made weekly in advance and due every Saturday. This structure is similar to paying for a hotel or short term residency, requiring residents to stay current with their obligation to the house and their brothers.
- TOTAL MOVE IN = $300.00 (This covers the Move In Fee and your first 7 days of GRACE payment.)
- Principle: By paying your GRACE contribution weekly and in advance, you are honoring your word, being a responsible steward of your finances, and ensuring the stability of the entire community.
